Two; two time cancer survivors!
Imerman Angels is a Chicago based nonprofit organization founded by Jonny Imerman, a testicular cancer survivor. His vision for Imerman Angels is to provide one on one support for those who have survived cancer, are fighting cancer, and for those who are giving care to someone who is going through cancer. These people are known as cancer survivors, cancer fighters, and caregivers.
In 2008, I met Jonny Imerman at a fundraising event that I was managing at the River East Art Center in Chicago. After hearing his story and learning about his vision, I felt a great connection with him and his mission. Jonny and I kept in contact on and off for about a year. I finally became a Mentor Angel and volunteer for his organization late in 2009. Imerman Angels is all about making that connection between Mentor Angels and those whose lives have been touched by cancer. It is with that “laser focus” in mind, the assistance of his great board, and staff along with the community of Angels that makes Imerman Angels the AWESOME organization that it is! I am a PROUD member of IA!!!
